KVK campus training on local fruits, vegetables

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaland University, Zunheboto conducted on-campus training programme -cum-participatory result demonstration on value addition in fruits and vegetables (preparation of jam, squash and pickle) by Edenly Chishi, SMS (Horticulture) as well as training –cum- participatory method demonstration on production of mushrooms by Dr. Rokovilie Mezhatsu, training assistant.
The participants included farmers from nearby village, Nagaland University staff and house wives of Nagaland University staff.
Fifty participants attended the training programme.
The main objective of the programme was to add value to the easily and locally available fruits and vegetables such as mango, jack fruit, brinjal for self employment and income generation.
The programme concluded by distributing preservatives to the participants.
