Reacting to the May 19 report wherein one Doni Anal, a suspected NSCN (I-M) activist was reportedly killed when a bomb went off while he was trying to destroy a bridge, the NSCN (I-M) has clarified that there was no cadre enrolled in Naga army by the name. A communiqué issued by PRO/IPR Naga army “col” Levi Zimik, denied any involvement in the “juvenile” attempt to blow off the bridge along NH-39 and said it could be the handiwork of some untrained volunteers rebelling against the “tyranny of Ibobi government”. Stating that Ibobi led Manipur government was solely responsible for the current situation that Manipur was facing, “col” Zimik said it was Manipur cabinet’s decision which triggered bloodshed and turmoil, and not by Th. Muivah’s willingness to visit his own village, as the cabinet presumed. He said the demonstrations held so far were purely people’s will against “oppressed forces of the state”, and “ we have been keenly observing for the right moment to strike. Till then “not to “pull us in beforehand”, he added.
