SBTA biennial session

: The 4th Biennial session of Sumi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) was held at Khukiye-Lukhai village from the May 14 to 16 under the theme ‘Towards a better community’ with Rev. S. Yevito executive secretary, SBAK (Nito Mount), Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi, Director, Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO), and Rev.Vitoi Kappo, Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazar as speakers.
About 600 delegates attended the session. The three day session included Bible study, worship services including indigenous creative worship, paper presentations, panel discussion, business hour, experience sharing from church workers, para church ministry and NGO ministry experience.
Various competitions were conducted for students including extempore speech, quartet and talent show.
The first SBTA Journal was also released during the session by the Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Kiheto Zhimo. Census report of Sumi Theological members was also presented.
In the session the association decided to have full time co-ordinator, guidelines for theological studies will be prepared especially for the benefit of theological students.
SBTA shared their grief at the loss of life of innocent students at Mao Gate on May 6 and prayed that peace prevail in the region.
SBTA also nominated its office bearers for 2010-2012 with Dr. Hesheto Chishi as president and Tovishe Shohe as general secretary.
