GB’s Union Pungro sub- division clarifying on the creation of Saramati region (for Tikhir, Chirr, Makory, Lungpur and Para of Myanmar) in Pungro area stated that to counter the policy of annexation, Pungro area should demand for a separate region.
The GB’s union, alleged that Yimchunger area being vast and topographically difficult to administer, the demand for Yimchunger Saramati region in Pungro area was agreed and resolved but unfortunately while submitting the same word ‘Yimchungru’, it was somehow deleted which was why, the very reason for the demand of Yimchungru Saramati Region to counter the Tikhirs was twisted and declared as ‘Saramati Region’.
The GB’s union stated it submitted a representation to the collective leaders of GPRN/NSCN and another memo objecting the creation and inauguration of Saramati region. It also clarified the question of area leaders and GB’s attending the programme did not arise as the Saramati region inauguration was “adjusted in the jungle” between Salomi village and JC BN. It also alleged “Brig” (Rtd) Tothsangkiu alias Tusangchu and care taker CAO of Saramati region of submitting a representation to the ministry of Kilo affairs NSCN a list of allegations. Union cautioned that if any untoward incident was created due to the allegations, Tothsangkiu would be answerable to the Yimchungru tribe.
