Preserving an environmental dilapidation in the areas, the ‘Green dream’ an environmental organization was formally launched at town hall Noklak on May 19. Litimo SDO Soil and water conservation Noklak was the main speaker.
Addressing a huge number of young people at the launching programme, SDO said Nagas are ignorant, they know how to cut trees but they do not know how to plant trees. He therefore, appealed to the youths to take keen interest in conserving the nature of the peaceful environmental process in the locality.
Delivering the key note address, K. Okie, convener of the Green dream, highlighted the purpose of launching the ‘Green dream’ to counter the environmental degradation. Earlier, the launching programme of ‘Green dream’ was chaired by K. Chongkoi, while short speech was delivered by W. Chuba president KTC and Heme Hd. GB Noklak. Vote of thanks was proposed by P. Hosea. The launching programme was followed by plantation of trees within the town area with the help of the students from Government Higher Secondary and Christian High School Noklak. More than five thousand tree saplings were planted in the areas.
