Naga Hoho reaffirms

A joint statement from several Naga organizations scattered in Nagaland, Burma, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday said that the Naga Hoho has strongly re-affirmed the 5-point declaration made on May 8, 2010 in the presidential council meeting held on May 22 at Kohima. The organizations said the reaffirmation was being made in order to protect and uphold the Naga peoples’ rights to live together as one people.
It was sated that the presidential council meeting unanimously endorsed the declaration which would be the guiding principles for future course of activities. The house felt that there should be no room for misunderstanding over the declaration and termed it as “unfortunate.” The Naga Hoho has appealed to all sections of the Naga society to stand firm and united in pursuit of the goal.
The joint statement was issued by: presidents of Naga Hoho Keviletuo Kiewhuo, Ao Senden Lendinokdang, Angami Public Organization K. Linyu, Chakhesang Public Organization, Sovenyi, Kyong Hoho Yansathung Jami, Rengma Hoho Kegwanye Lorin, Mao Council O. Lohru, Chiru Union Kh. Rengtovun, Naga Peoples Organization M. Dili, Maram Union R. K. Peter, Thangal Union H. Khangba, United Naga Council Samsom Remei; representatives of Pochury Public Front K. Pochury, Zeliangrong Interim Body (A,M&N) Raitu Chawang, Moyon Hoho Joe Ngamkhuchung; secretary Tangkhul Hoho K. Aving Zimik and speaker Poumai Naga Union Ashipri Zho.
