Unions felicitate toppers

WSH: Western Sumi Hoho felicitated Sumi students who featured in the Top 50 list of the recently declared HSLC examination conducted by NBSE at the felicitation programme organized by the Hoho at Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar on May 23.
WSH awarded the toppers including Omegali Swu (1st position), Atokali Chophy (14th position), Vikavi K. Ayemi (18th position), Kaholi (26th position), Atoli N. Sumi (29th position), Tolika Swu (32nd position), Antony Inato Z. Sumi (33rd position) and Phutoli H. Aye (35th position) with cash award and certificate of excellence.
Besides congratulating all the successful candidates, it especially congratulated Kasheli H. for securing highest mark in Sumi (MIL) subject and Mijito Vinito for his success in UPSC exam 2010.
Delivering a message on the occasion, Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi, director NDO quoted scriptures from the Bible and urged the students to seek God even as they continued to pursue their academic career.
Lauding the proud parents, he said that the excellence of the students was because of prayers, guidance and proper up bringing of their children.
MSU: Mezoma Students’ Union (MSU) held its felicitation programme for HSLC and HSSLC successful candidates at MUK building, lower agri colony, Kohima on May 23.
Exhorting the gathering, Dr. Zase Chüsi, VAS (Res) and legal in-charge directorate of veterinary and animal husbandry said passing out from HSLC and HSSLC was a stepping stone for the future endeavour.
He appealed the students to give first priority to God with thanksgiving in order prosper in life and maintained that students needed to struggle to win laziness, which was the root of failure.
Dr. Zase Chüsi lauded the achievement of Thejalhoukho for achieving top position in HSSLC arts stream while the MSU honoured Casavi with a citation.
The programme chaired by MSU general secretary Vibizono Chüsi started with MSU president Neithoriaü Khawakhrie pronouncing the invocation. Special number was presented by MSU advisor Pekrubeilie and successful candidates of Class 12.
Vizhatsü Kehie delivered speech on behalf of the passed out students while MSU vice games and sports secretary Mezovilie Miasalhou delivered the vote of thanks and MUK president Kruneiu Chüsi said the benediction.
CSU: Chiechama Students’ Union (CSU) held its 12th felicitation programme at Ura Academy on Saturday with Teisovise Metha, additional superintendent of police, Kohima as chief patron. Speaking at the function, Teisovise advised the freshers to dedicate and have faith in God to achieve success in life.
Khriengunuo Theünuo, Top 4 in the HSLC 2010 said the secret of her success was self dedication, hard work and her faith in God.
Norman Putsüre (IAS), secretary land resources had assured the Chiechama Students’ Union in 1993 that any of its members ranking in top 10 in HSLC exam would be awarded Rs. 30,000 and Khriengunuo Theünuo walked away with that award.
The union also thanked the Chiechama Village Council, Youth Organization, Women Organization and Village Development Board for giving cash and other awards to the topper and all the successful candidates.
