KMC informs bakeries on hygiene

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) said that the matter of a band-aid found in a chicken burger on Saturday from M/S Popular Bakery, Kohima was brought to the notice of KMC and accordingly the trade license was seized and the shop sealed.
In a press release, the KMC informed that the council will release the license as and when the hygienic condition of the premises was rectified and duly certified by the CMO office. It also informed that the KMC recently detected selling of stale and unhygienic food stuffs by some bakeries under the municipal jurisdiction and the same were seized along with the trade license. The council warned bakeries that a timely inspection would be carried out and stern action shall be taken against defaulters.
