NABARD’s 3 marketing sheds for Urra village

The Urra village marketing sheds, Dimapur funded under NABARD was inaugurated by general manager, NABARD K C Panda on May 24.
Inaugurating the weekly marketing sheds Panda, said the marketing sheds would become the model marketing sheds for the state. The manager also stated that the project was successfully implemented by the village council and is being benefited by 30 adjacent villages covering about 42,000 populations. He also requested the village council and the village bazaar committee to generate revenue and create a corpus fund to maintain the sheds.
The VDB Secretary of Urra Village, Kekuowhetuo in his welcome address express gratitude to NABARD for sanctioning of grant assistance for development of the marketing infrastructure in the village.
According to the NABARD general manager, NABARD’s Rural Haat Scheme sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh grant assistance to the Urra village council for development of 3 marketing sheds with total project outlay of Rs. 6.44 lakh in the village with seating capacity of about 75 vendors while the village council contributed Rs. 1.44 lakh out of its own fund for the construction of the sheds.
It may be mentioned that NABARD has sanctioned 8 numbers of marketing sheds infrastructure in Dimapur, Phek, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Peren and Tuensang districts of Nagaland for the benefit of the rural peoples as well as for the farmers for marketing their agriculture and other produces.
