Blankets for children of KODH

In a yeoman service to mankind especially for the underprivileged people, hundreds of blankets were distributed to the two orphanage homes in the state capital on Sunday.
The team led Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA and chairman NKVIB and his wife, along with Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu, MLA and adviser IT and TE and DC Kohima Beiu Angami visited Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home (KODH) Seithgoei and Eden Garden, Khuzama to personally hand over the blankets.
Speaking briefly at KODH Seithgoei, Dr. Nicky Kire said legislators comprising of different political parties- NPF, Congress, NCP and Independents played an exhibition football match with bureaucrats to raise funds to help the orphanages in the state.
He said according to reports receives there were about thousand orphanages in the state and on Sunday visited KODH Seithgoei and Eden Garden, Khuzama to hand over the blankets while the rest of the orphanages would also soon receive blankets from various legislators in their districts.
Dr. Nicky thanked all the donors who contributed free will donations during the exhibition football match, adding it was noble way to help the orphanages in the state.
Meanwhile, the KODH and Eden Garden, Khuzama expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to the legislators, bureaucrats and all well wishers for helping them.
It may be mentioned on March 26, a historic exhibition football match was played at Kohima between Chief Minister’s XI and Chief Secretary’s XI , where donations collected during the match amounted to Rs.7,74,490/- and further hoped to collect at least Rs.8,00,000/-, with collection/proceedings to be given as charity orphanages in the state.
