Rental Housing Campus Committee (RHCC) PWD (H) Dimapur has reiterated its demand for relaxation of house rent which was enhanced up to 65% with effect from April 1 within a span of two years.
A press statement issued by Rental Housing Campus Committee chairman Abolu Yepthomi, general secretary Thungbemo Shitiri, said the members met with parliamentary secretary (H), commissioner and secretary (H) and chief engineer to deliberate on rent enhancement.
According to Rental Housing Campus Committee members, the officials assured to relax the hiked rate to at least 10% to 15% at a time, but till date no information or action was taken.
Rental Housing Campus Committee also stated that a representation was also submitted to government through chief engineer housing Kohima on March 17 for review of exorbitant house rate. As per government order house rent has been enhanced w.e.f. 1st April 2010 at the following rate within a span of two years time. Ground floor was enhanced at 15 %, first floor at 47 % and second floor at 65 %.
