CM to attend Mkg DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio is scheduled to attend a special meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) on June 24, 10.30 am at DC’s conference hall. According to an official bulletin, deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has informed all elected representatives of Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Mokokchung district to attend the meeting. She also directed all DPDB members to submit agendas if any, on or before June 23.
NSBSG informs on trainings, courses
KOHIMA: Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) has informed that regional basic cub/master and flock leader training will be held at Shillong from July 16 to 20. The district level office course for district secretary, joint secretary, district commissioners, district organizing commissioners, district training commissioners, assistant district commissioners will be held from July 1 to 5 at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. The district organizing commissioner’s or interested candidates have been requested to contact S.O.C(S) -9436601364 for details.
NLA members meeting on June 25
DIMAPUR: A meeting of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) members with visiting committee on estimates, SC/ST/OBC and minority of Delhi Legislative Assembly has been convened on June 25, 11am at committee room New Assembly Complex, Kohima. All NLA members have been requested to attend the meeting.
SASU notice to govt. employees
DIMAPUR: Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) has asked all government employees to report to their respective departments for duty before June 30. The union stated that many of the employees were out of station and the responsible department have been finding it difficult to carry out their normal function. It also cautioned that if departments failed to comply with the directives then it would be compelled to take up stern action against the erring employees.
KBA condoles
DIMAPUR: Kohima Bar Association (KBA) has expressed grief at the demise of Lucy Meruno, wife of Justice K. Meruno on June 21 at Dimapur. In a condolence message, the association described late. Lucy Meruno as a “selfless mother, who dedicated her life for the betterment of the society”. KBA also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
NSAMB office cum market inauguration
KOHIMA: Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB) has informed members of the board of directors of NSAMB, APMC, entrepreneurs that the NSAMB office cum Market complex and Agronag Centre 4th mile NE expo site, Dimapur will be inaugurated on June 25, 10 am by state chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking
KOHIMA: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking on the them “Think Health …not drugs” will be held on June 26, 10 am at town hall Jakhama with Vikho-o Yhoshu, MLA and adviser IT and communication as guest of honour. The programme is jointly organized by NSACS, Nagaland Users Network, Kripa Foundation and Kohima Users Network.
Inauguration of ICAR constructions
DIMAPUR: Central laboratory building constructed under 11th Five Year Plan, and two pigsties constructed under Mega Seed Project on Pig at ICAR research complex for NEH region, Medziphema would be inaugurated on June 25, 3.15pm by Central ICAR New Delhi deputy director general (NRM), Dr. A.K. Singh.

DIMAPUR: Yimchunger Union Dimapur (YUD) has convened an executive session on June 26, 9 am at the residence of its union treasurer. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
WTVYO new team
DIMAPUR: Wokha Town Vankhosung Yimpang Okho (WTVYO) held its general meeting on June 5 and elected a new team of office bearers. The new team would be headed by J. Nchumbemo Kikon as chairman and N. Chumthungo Yanthan as general secretary.
DMU new team
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Moilan Union (DMU) elected its new team of office bearers with S. Ntsemo Humtsoe as chairman and N. Athungo Ovung as secretary.

NPF Meluri lauds
KOHIMA: NPF Meluri town unit has extended gratitude and lauded parliamentary secretary tourism, law and justice Yitachu for the developmental works carried out in Meluri town. The NPF Meluri town listed that some of the developmental works included construction of tourism guest house, drainage, roads and culverts in and around Meluri, construction of town hall cum badminton stadium, medical office quarter, wells and pumps, construction of police office building, DB court and DIS quarter, PPF building etc. The party unit reaffirmed its stand to support Yitachu under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, chief minister of Nagaland. It stated that the government under Rio had brought many development to the state.
KSU reaffirms support to ENSF
DIMAPUR: Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has extended support to the stand of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) with regard to the advertisement of LDA posts in various districts and directorate by the P&AR department, and the subsequent ultimatum served against the anomaly in the post vacancy caused by the massive retirement of the Nagaland State government employees. KSU urged the department responsible to exercise extreme caution while floating such advertisement and to take into consideration the government of Nagaland 25% job reservation policy for the 6 tribes of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, and Longleng districts.
Free medical camp at Tseminyu
KOHIMA: Khumolozung Integrated Community Development Project (North East India Committee on Relief and Development) will organize a free health camp at Tseminyu Town Baptist Church on June 23 from 9.30 am onwards. The people of Tseminyu town have been informed to avail the free medical check up and medicine.
Inter school folk drama competition
DIMAPUR: Blossom Women Club (BWC) Chumukedima will be organizing an inter school folk drama competition on the theme ‘save culture’ on September 11 at Dimapur. Dramatization would be done in mother tongue and narration in English.
