In protest against the attack on two Naga owned buses by scooter-borne masked miscreants in two different places – North A.O.C and Shangakpham bazaar – in Imphal today at around 5:30 a.m., the Senapati district motors vehicles owners association Manipur has resolved to call a bandh on all passenger services from Mao to Imphal June 22.
SDMVOA cautioned that whoever violated its bandh would be doing so at their risk.
Meanwhile, the united Naga council (UNC) team said that attacked buses were ferrying several passengers, mostly non-locals, who were travelling from Imphal to Mao and onwards. UNC team said that some miscreants, who initially attempted to stop non-locals from boarding the bus, resorted to physical assault on two persons and ultimately damaged two buses. In another communiqué, the Senapati district students’ association (SDSA) has “strongly” condemned the attack on two “ill-fated” Imphal to Mao buses (MN-01- 1167 and MN-01-0341) today in Imphal.
SDSA president A. Pfokrehrii Khrasi, said two persons were also seriously injured in the incident. It further demanded probe into the incident.
