Citizens in Nagaland continued to be hit hard due to shortage of cooking Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply amid rumors that the state’s share of LPG has been diverted elsewhere. Proprietor of a prominent cooking gas agency in Kohima said the short supply of LPG which was not a new thing has been continuing for the past two months. The proprietor said he was supposed to get three to four truck loads of LPG every alternate day but was getting only a single truck load or two for the past two months. He, however, said the short supply was from Assam side from where the stocks were coming to the state. With the shortage of LPG supply, black marketers are fast mushrooming in and around the state capital. One refilled gas cylinder reportedly costs around Rs 700 to Rs 800 in the black market.
