Tribal Unions of 3rd NAP sector on learning from reliable sources said state government had decided to transfer the maximum companies of the unit i.e. 3rd NAP Battalion to Delhi on turn-rotation by this year.
In this regard, Tribal Unions have appealed chief minister Neiphiu Rio to reconsider the proposed decision on humanitarian ground, so as to detail a maximum of two companies on deputation basis and not as proposed. A press release issued by NAP Sector, Tuensang, B. Berimong Chang President, Chang Union; Lakum Yim, vice president, Yimchunger Union; P. Khumo Khiam, President, Khiamniungan Union; and Tsapise Stm Vice Chairman, Sangtam Union, has put-forth this appeal in view of difficulties faced by the families of the affected jawans especially on socio-economic fronts and hampering of their children’s education.
