NPF youth conducts tree plantation

As part of “Year of Plantation” declared by the state government and to contribute towards improving the eco-system, the Dimapur Division NPF Youth Wing led by president, Kuhovi Zhimo and vice president, Inaho Yeptho organized tree plantation programme at Chumukedima, Medziphema and Niuland on Wednesday.
Former MLA, Atomi Zhimomi launched the plantation drive at Niuland. Hundreds of tree saplings were planted along the road from Zubza Bridge to Niuland town besides ADC office compound.
Former MLA, Rokonicha planted a sapling to kick off the campaign at Medziphema. Trees were planted inside the compounds of ADC office complex, government high school and hospital. Plantation at Chumukedima was launched at the on-going construction of new DC office was launched by T. Shuya, Chief Advisor, Chumukedima Town Council.
On behalf of the people, he also urged the government for timely completion of new DC office complex.
Shilu Sangtam, president, NPF Dimapur division also participated in the drive.
According to Benathung Kithan, general secretary, media, youth wing, the plantation drive was successfully conducted in all the entire three places with participation of NPF youth in large numbers.
The saplings were provided by the state forest department, for which the NPF Youth Wing, Dimapur division thanked the department for helping the youth to successfully conduct the programme.
