AYO accepts apology

Angami Youth Organization (AYO) Thursday accepted “unconditional” apology tendered by Heto Yepthomi in connection with June 22 incident at SKV petrol pump Kohima wherein the latter, son of a parliamentary secretary misbehaved with AYO vice president, Kekhrievolie Keyho. According to AYO, the matter was settled amicably in the “spirit of forgiveness” as Heto tendered “unconditional” apology to AYO at its joint meeting with family members of Heto and members of Kohima Sumi Hoho (KSH) at Hotel Japfü Kohima, Thursday. The house while condemning the act of Heto, agreed to accept his apology. The accused also agreed to issue public apology with assurance that such act would not be repeated in future and AYO, on its part, resolved not to press further charges. Meanwhile, KSH as witness to the meeting, consented to issue a public statement condemning the act. An agreement between the two parties was endorsed by NAYO president, K. Theunuo; AYO president, Khrielievi Chusi; vice president, Kekhrievolie Keyho; Dr. K. C. Nihoshe; Akavi; and KSH secretary, Lhokiye Yepthomi.
