Reacting to NPCC’s demand for clarification from state chief minister, minister PWD (R&B) and PWD (R&B) E.Er C. Kelhoupuo Rio on alleged deduction of 80% from Rs.450 lakh, released for clearance of pending bills and town maintenance for Dimapur division, NCSU Dimapur division Thursday clarified that, out of total amount, 80% was paid to contractors who invested “huge amount” for their works and 20% was paid to “petty contractors”. NCSU Dimapur division president W. Khape and convenor Vikato Zhimomi said Congress should rather appreciate the engineer for releasing some amount to “petty contractors”. They asserted that personal attacks by NPCC being a matured political party was uncalled for. The contractors also urged all responsible not to politicize the matter without analyzing facts and figures.
