Outsiders should not be driven out: HM

Home minister Imkong L. Imchen on Saturday said Ao tribe should be united and that no outsiders should be driven out but allowed to stay in the same house and live together as one.
“I see no wrong in unity as it is better to live in unity with fellow being that otherwise”, Imchen said.
He was addressing a public meeting as the chief guest after unveiling the new building of Changki ‘Sungdakba Jubang’ (Changki upper khel Conference Hall) at Changki village under Mokokchung district.
He called upon the people to stand in unity and be firm against division as it was “not a shame” thing for the people to stand in unity.
Referring to the new building, the minister said it would serve the purpose of right path for culture and traditions of Changki to be carried forward.
Appealing the functionaries at present to continue the vision from the building the minister said building belonged to all Changki and was meant not just for Changki Sungdakba but also for all Aos and Nagas. “We will not talk about Sungdakba alone in this hall but for all, as to how Aos for that matter Nagas will prosper, to be together and be united” he said.
The meeting was also attended by Director Rural Development Metsubo Jamir, as guest of honour, MLA and Chairman NIDC & NHL Nuklutoshi and Changkija IPS DGP (Rtd.). Special songs were also presented by Sungdakba Lanuri and Sungdakba Jadunlari.
