NU research scholars meet
KOHIMA: A general meeting of all Ph. D. and M. Phil. Scholars of Nagaland University under Kohima Campus will be held on July 3, 10 am at the conference hall, Nagaland University, old office building, main town. The meeting is convened pertaining to election of new office bearers and discussion of important issues relating to NURSF-Kohima.
ANAATA Zbto joint meeting
KOHIMA: A joint meeting of All Nagaland Aggrieved Adhoc Teachers’ Association (ANAATA) Zunheboto unit will be held on July 6, 9 am at SKK conference hall, Zunheboto town. All doubtful and adhoc teachers have been asked to attend the meeting.
KBPF prayer meeting
KOHIMA: The monthly Monday prayer meeting of the Kohima Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (KBPF) will be held on July 5, 7 am at Midland Baptist Church. A discussion on important matters on mission policy for Doulus Ministry will be held after the prayer. All senior pastors, associate pastors and assistant pastors have been requested to attend the meet.
SUKT informs
KOHIMA: Sangtam Union Kohima Town (SUKT) has informed all responsible families except Sangtams within the jurisdiction of Kohima town that those keeping Sangtams for the purpose of house maid and servants to report to SUKT with detailed information about the conditions of using their services in written, so that any unwanted happening in future would be made known to the union. In a release SUKT stated that defaulters would be the solely responsible in the event of any form of action taken by the union.
CANSSEA Wokha emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: An emergency meeting of CANSSEA Wokha unit has been convened on July 2, 10 am at LTC hall. All departmental association and unions have been requested to attend the meeting.
VKRSU meeting
DIMAPUR: V.K. Range Students’ Union (VKRSU) has convened a meeting on July 3, 9 am at the residence of its union banker, V.K. town. All executives, GBs, former advisors and action committee and executives have been requested to attend the meeting. The union also informed that disciplinary action would be initiated against any executive failing to attend the meeting.
DBHSS silver jubilee meeting
DIMAPUR: Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Dimapur has convened a meeting on July 10, 5 pm at School auditorium in view of the forthcoming silver jubilee celebration. All the past pupils have been requested to attend the meeting.
CCSU session
DIMAPUR: Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) federal assembly will hold its mid-term session for the year 2010-11 on July 6, 9am at CCSU conference hall. All members of the federal assembly have been requested to attend the session.

NPBCA fasting and prayer
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) office bearers and staff would be conducting one day fasting and prayer on August 4 from 5am to 5pm at NPBCA mission centre. All the Churches under NPBCA have been requested to keep the day free and informed churches to send three members to attend the prayer service.
DIPR clarifies
DIMAPUR: Apropos to the news item which appeared on June 26 in local dailies under the caption ‘DC Zunheboto visit landslide area’, DIPR has clarified that it should be read as ‘the affected area includes MP Khekiho’s residence area at South Point, Ilhoge residence area at Kuhuboto colony and below the present Industry Office at New colony’ and not as rendered.
Jakhama Village Council clarifies
DIMAPUR: Responding to a news item “AR Seize liquor along NH-39” published on June 26 in local dailies where it was mentioned that 16 Assam Rifles had seized IMFL from a Maruti Van travelling from Kohima to Jakhama, Jakhama Village Council has clarified that there was total prohibition in the village and the seized items were not taken to Jakhama.The council chairman, Kekutsol Sophie has appealed everyone not to “drag” the name of Jakhama village into controversy without ascertaining the facts.
WDTU new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Wokha District Taxi Union (WDTU) has elected a new team of office bearers with Zumchio Kikon as president, C. Khumbemo Tsanglao as general secretary and other members. The union informed that handing and taking over would be held on June 30, 4.30 pm at hotel center point, Tsumang colony Wokha.
Azheto feted
DIMAPUR: Seluophe Village Council (SVC) and Urra Area Village Union (UAVU), has expressed gratitude to sericulture and co-operation advisor Azheto Zhimomi for issuing food grains to the villagers and for repairing the village roads. The council further declared to extend their support to his leadership for the days to come.
SGWSD felicitates
DIMAPUR: Sukhalu Ghami Welfare Society Dimapur (SGWSD) has felicitated H. Hokiye Yepthomi on being promoted as managing director NHHDC Dimapur, Y. Vihoshe Murru as headmaster Education department and A. Viholi Assumi as assistant headmistress Education department. The society further wished them success in their future endeavors.
Unidentified person found
DIMAPUR: An unidentified non-local person aged around 50 years was found at Piphema marketing shed in an unconscious state on Sunday morning. According to police sources, the person was later brought down and admitted to Medziphema hospital where the doctors informed that he was a diabetic patient. (Staff Reporter)AYO intensive tour
DIMAPUR: Angami Youth Organization (AYO) conducted its third phase intensive touring program along with Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) and visited different villages under Northern Angami area. According to AYO, the third phase tour concluded at Botsa village on June 27 where various issues were discussed by members of the organizations with preservation of flora and fauna as the main agenda. Meanwhile, AYO has informed that the fourth phase of the tour program would be conducted from July 1 to 3 where it would hold meetings with village elders and youth on the stand and boundaries of the Angami area in Dimapur. Village leaders have been requested to delegate 10 or more members to attend the meeting.
USTK felicitates
DIMAPUR: Unger Senso Telongjem Kohima (USTK) has felicitated Tialemla, Class 7, Mount Hermon School, Kohima, daughter of Tajungrenba Imsong and Purnungla Lkr for receiving Kohima Educational Trust award sponsored and founded by British survivors of the Battle of Kohima. The senso also wished her success in future endeavour.
