A computer training centre was established at 20 Assam Rifles of 5 Sector Assam Rifles under IGAR (N) at Ghaspani in November last year for training of local youth of the Medziphima sub division.
According to a defence release, the third batch of students were awarded certificate of diploma in computer application by the Commandant in a function at the computer training centre after successful completion of the 16 weeks course on Monday.
A total of 13 students attended the course out of which 11 were girls.
The performance of the students was exceptional and six students scored above 70 percent.
The computer training centre is affiliated with the directorate of technical education, Nagaland and has most modern facilities with ten computer terminals with internet facility where 20 students can be trained in each batch.
The fourth batch of 22 students has also commenced the training of which 14 are girls. Interacting informally after the ceremony, Hatnemthem Doungel who topped the course stated it was the first time ever such a facility was extended for free to the public. This move will go a long way in providing opportunities to the local youth in becoming self reliant, he said.
