The employment exchange of Dimapur went online with parliamentary secretary for housing, labour and employment engineer Saku Aier launching the portal on Monday.
The online employment exchange portal is a major national e-governance project and will function both as a registration exchange and also provide employers to pick up the right person for companies.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the chief guest parliamentary secretary for housing, labour and employment engineer Saku Aier lauded the effort of the department for introducing the online registration facility for the general public.
He maintained that with the launching of the site, www.employmentservice.nic.in, it would go a long way in addressing the unemployment problem in the state by providing a platform for both the employers and unemployed.
Meanwhile, State Informatics Officer (SIO) Kezungulo Medikhrü informed that the project, maintained by NIC Delhi, was being implemented all over the country.
The website will provide online registration 24X7 to the public.
He also disclosed that the main target was to introduce the portal in all the district employment exchanges in the state.
It may be mentioned that only Kohima and Dimapur district employment exchange have the online facility till date.
Earlier, the inaugural function was presided over by DEO Dimapur Lotam Chang and vote of thanks was delivered by EO Imlikumzuk Sangtam. Employment and Craftsmen Training director Panger also delivered a special address.
