Alleging that DAN government, after years in power, has turned topsy-turvy and was heavily dogged with rampant corruption, mismanagement of state affairs and abuse of power, the District Congress Committee, Kohima (DCCK) Monday said the government has failed to deliver its lofty promises to dispense justice, transparency, accountability and corrupt free government to the public.
While touching upon several of its earlier allegations, the DCC Kohima president Prasielie Pienyü, in a communiqué, said of all the scandals in Nagaland the “broad day-light exhaustion of NREGS fund” was the biggest corruption scandal.
It alleged that massive funds amounting to Rs.700 crore have been siphoned off by DAN politicians, RD authorities and many village leaders handling NREGS funds.
It claimed that RD parliamentary secretary and some RD officers were on a buying spree, purchasing immovable properties worth lakhs and crores of rupees.
On DRDA Mon case, the DCCK alleged that the money detected by Assam police in Bokajan was NREGS fund, which belonged to villagers of Mon district.
Also, criticizing DAN government’s claim to deliver justice and equal treatment, the Congress said those claim has “gone down the drain, stating that when it had called for 12-hour state-wide bandh it was termed “illegal and unlawful”, however, when NSF called for NH-39 bandh for an issue that pertained to Manipur state, the chief minister turned “blind eye” as if NSF bandh was legal and Congress’ bandh was illegal.
