DMC directives to hotels, restaurants

Observing that most of the hotels and restaurants in Dimapur were running without proper hygienic conditions, Dimpaur Municipal Council (DMC) has issued guidelines to be followed by hotels and restaurants. DMC has directed all hotels, restaurants and bakeries to keep dustbins, cooks and chefs to wear aprons, to install water filter compulsory, to use only commercial LPG gas cylinder.
Proprietors have also been directed to maintain lodging facilities with proper register and information of the customer, hotels and restaurants not to allow smoking inside the room except in “Smoking zone”.
All staff dealing with food items should produce medical fitness certificate during inspection which could be obtained from medical department.
DMC advisor market rate and quality control Tokheli Kikon informed that guidelines would be in force with immediate effect and contravention of the guidelines would invite strict action and penalty.
