ICDP programme launched in Mon

Marcofed building and Office of chief project officer, Integrated Co-operative Development Project (ICDP) was inaugurated in Mon on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inaugural function advisor sericulture & cooperation MLA Azheto Zhimomi said out of the planned budget received from central government, 61% goes to government employees’ salaries where as only 39% are being implemented for developmental activities.
While lauding chief minister for making ICDP programme a reality, he said main aim of ICDP was to promote co-operative societies in the state, and co-operative societies should advocate principle of business: honesty, punctuality and sincerity. He also urged ICDP officials to be careful and identify only genuine societies.
Rigistrar of co-operative Societies Imtila Jamir, in her key note address informed that 50% of the project will be loan component, 25% shared capital, 20% subsidy and 5% marginal money. She also urged the people to take the responsibility of recovering the loan component, which was equally important as receiving, for the smooth functioning of the project.
C.L. John, MLA and Chairman Marcofed who graced the inaugural function as the guest of honour lauded DAN government for making the Marcofed department a reality.
Also speaking at the function, President Konyak Union Khoiwang Konyak, appealed to all factions not to interfere in the project as it was meant for the economic development of the society. B.K Thadani, Managing Director NSCB Ltd in his welcome speech said that the day would be treasured as a very important day in the history of cooperative movement of Mon district, as the day witnessed inauguration of the project of Rs. 796.00 lacs, covering almost all areas of development under cooperative institution viz agricultural sector, allied agriculture, SSI units etc.
Earlier, the program was chaired by DC Dinesh Kumar, IAS, and vote of thanks delivered by MLA Aloh.
