Sand suppliers Thursday alleged that mobile squad of the Nagaland taxes department, deployed at Delai gate and New Field gate, were demanding Rs.200 per trip instead of sale tax form-23 issued by state commissioner of taxes which was to be produced before crossing Nagaland gates. A Sang supplier identified as K.V. Yadav alleged that mobile squad deployed at Delai gate, purportedly told suppliers not to bring form-23 as they cannot eat air(hawaa) and asked them to pay Rs.200 instead and go. The suppliers wanted to know if they have to produce form-23 or pay Rs.200 per trip at the gates. Besides demand for cash, suppliers also alleged, they used to be detained for an hour at the gates. They have appealed authority responsible look into the matter and initiate appropriate action.
