SP Kma on mandatory use of helmet

DIMAPUR: Superintendent of Police, Kohima has notified two wheel drivers as well as pillion riders to wear a protective helmet while driving around in public places. SP stated that as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 it is mandatory for both the driver as well as the pillion riders and further stated that any contravention of the rules will be liable for prosecution under section 177 and 179 of MV Act, 1988. The Kohima district police would enforce the said rules within its jurisdiction after expiry of seven days from the date of issue of this notice. SP has requested to cooperate with the police in enforcing the rules in the interest of public safety.
NU MBA 4th semester result
DIMAPUR: The provisional result of Master of Business Administration (MBA) fourth semester examinations of School of Engineering & Technology and Management (SETAM), Nagaland University held this year has been declared. Altogether 25 students appeared the exam with 19 first division and a total of 6 second division.
CMO Mkg food licence holders
DIMAPUR: Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, Dr. Bendang Jamir has informed food licence holders of Mokokchung town to renew/ obtain their licence for the year 2010 from office of CMO from July 19 to August 6. 2010. Medical fitness examination of the employees of these business establishments would be conducted during this period.CMO Mokokchung stated that appropriate legal action against defaulters would be taken as per the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rule.
DFD to distribute seedling
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Forest Division (DFD) has informed all NGOs, institutions, communities, interested persons and others to collect seedlings from DFD for plantation during the month of July. Further special attention of JFMCs and villages implementing working schemes in the state have been requested to collect the seedlings for gap filling/enrichment planting in project areas/working scheme regeneration areas. Meanwhile, interested persons may contact Kocha Meyase, IFS DFO DFD and K. Hukato Chishi, ACF range officer Dimapur Range, Dimapur Forest colony, Midland Dimapur on any working days.
Training on soil conservation
DIMAPUR: Inaugural function of two year diploma course on soil conservation and agro forestry for 18th batch pre-service SCA was held on July 1 at state soil and water conservation research, demonstration and training centre Sechu (Zubza). The function was attended by soil and water conservation project director Rongsen Ao, joint director -cum- sectoral in charge of education and training, Nangshi Ao. 15 trainees will be imparted training on soil conservation aspects.
ZUD to organise Tuluni festival
DIMAPUR: Zhekiye union Dimapur (ZUD) would be celebrating Tuluni festival on July 8 at the residence of Er. Shikaho Zhimomi Eralibil. All the members have been requested to attend the festival program.

NBCC ‘Youth Day of Prayer’
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) would observe ‘Youth Day of Prayer’ on July 4. The council has marked every first Sunday of July to be the NBCC Youth Day of Prayer where the Churches in every association under the NBCC joins together and pray with one accord for young people. In this regard, NBCC youth department has appealed all the believers under NBCC to pray for the ministry, programs and activities of the young people.
DSSU conducts checking
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU) conducted a surprise checking in and around schools and college areas where intoxicants like ‘Gutkha and pan masala’ were being sold. According to the union vice president Atopu V. Achumi, around one thousand packets of ‘Gutkhas’ and ‘Pan masala’ were seized from shops and some students from reputed schools were also caught loitering during class hours and the students were found to have consumed alcohol.
RASU meeting
DIMAPUR: General meeting of Ralan Area Students’ Union (RASU) has been convened on July 3, 10 a.m at Ronsyu Yan. Union informed that meeting would deliberate on formation of ‘Ralan Area Public Organisation’ for which, village council chairman, secretaries, elders and officers from Ralan area are requested to attend the meeting.
