Seminar on climate change, health mela conducted in Longleng

DNCP Longleng Kissan Cell organized a seminar on climate change on June 7 at PPC Hall, Longleng Town with the theme, “Climate change, its causes and effects on agri allied sectors and environment”.
According to a press statement, altogether 300 participants attended the seminar and Bhubom Phom, DHO Longleng and S. Yongchang Phom, SDAO were the resource persons. Further on behalf of state NCP, S. Azio Kithan, secretary general state highlighted the functionaries of NCP in state level as well as district level and reaffirmed to strengthen the DAN government headed by Neiphiu Rio, chief minister Nagaland.
Earlier the seminar was chaired by A. Angai Phom, general secretary DNCP Longleng; invocation by Ajun Phom, associate pastor LTBL followed by welcome address cum presentation by Imliakum Phom, district president NCP Longleng and vote of thanks by N. Metpong Phom, former minister and state vice president NCP Nagaland.
Meanwhile, a three-day health mela organised and sponsored by organising committee Road Show -cum- Phom Day in Longleng concluded on June 6 where medicine, vaccines, IEC maternal were distributed free of cost.
A total of 1037 patients availed the opportunity. Various services provided were general health check-up, immunization for children and pregnant women, eye examination and various laboratory tests. Eight doctors headed by Medical Superintendent CMO in-charge Longleng, Dr. Chubatoshi along with nurses from District Hospital and Sub Centres rendered their services.
DC Longleng and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Nihekhu Sema expressed gratitude to proprietor of Mount Carmel School Longleng for providing the school premises for conducting the health mela.
