FGN Khiamniungan region has alleged that some armed NSCN (I-M) cadres were roaming around in uniform “in combat gesture” in the region since May 28 last.
Stating this in a press release issued by FGN Khiamniungan region “midan peyu”, K. Langkhang, said despite the agreement and commitment made by various “political groups” to restrain themselves in view of the ongoing reconciliation process in Nagaland, around 30 to 40 cadres of NSCN (I-M) have been roaming in Khiamniungan Region in uniform with full arms.
The release stated that such “antagonistic” action of the NSCN (I-M) was against the will of the Khiamniungan people, and would only invite armed conflict “once again”.
Stating that no particular group should take advantage of the reconciliation process to achieve their political profit, the FGN has requested the NSCN (I-M) “government” to recall its cadres immediately so as to avoid “confutation”
Meanwhile, it urged upon the people to honor the joint declaration made by NSCN (I-M) chairman, Isac Chishi Swu, GPRN/NSCN chairman, Khaplang and FGN/NNC “brig (Retd)”, S Singnya at Chiangmai in 2009, and further appealed not to allow anyone to disrupt the reconciliation process.
