In response to the appeal of the Forum for Naga Reconcliation (FNR), the Joint Working Group (JWG) of GPRN/NSCN, NNC/FGN and NSCN/GPRN have again resolved against issuing any press statements to either print or electronic media, that “would injure one another” and which could potentially endanger Naga Reconciliation process. Stating this, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) said it had met with the JGW Thursday in Dimapur to “reflectively and constructively” engage on issues related to Naga Reconciliation. FNR also stated that JWG had expressed the urgency and necessity to hold a reconciliation meeting at the highest level between signatories of “Covenant of Naga Reconciliation” soon. At Thursday’s meeting, the members affirmed their commitment to actively pursue Naga Reconciliation: A Journey of Common Hope, in all fairness, impartiality and mutual respect, keeping in mind the Naga common interest at its center, the forum said. Meanwhile, the FNR has also called upon highest level of leadership of signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation to initiate a consultative mechanism that would explore all possible avenues to enable an inclusive and common Naga process to find a solution based on “political and historical rights of the Nagas.”
