Attack on ADC candidates go unabated; re-poll in Tamenglong

Yet another house belonging to one Congress candidate, ST Dinglar who contested in the ADC election in Sadar hills of Senapati district was set on fire by suspected ADC election protestors.in the early hours of Friday. This incident happened amidst fresh polling which was held in 27 polling stations spreading over eight district council constituencies under Tamenglong district council was on Friday. It may be noted that the house of Dinglar was the 26th house to be attacked by protestors for defying the diktat of the UNC to withdraw their candidatures. Meanwhile, fresh poll was conducted in 27 polling stations spreading over eight constituencies in Tamenglong district with heavy security. State Election Commission had ordered re-poll in a total of 39 polling stations in Tamenglong District Council after booth capturing and burning down of ballot papers were reported in the second phase election held on June 2 last. Fresh polls in the remaining 12 polling stations (five each in 1-Kuilong and 5 Lamlaba DCCs and two in 7-Magulong DCC are scheduled to be held on June 16.
