SIS clarifies on GHS land ownership

Responding to the news report on landowners opposing government’s decision to shift upgraded government high school Wokha village, the Sub Inspector of Schools (SIS) Wokha village N. Wobenthung Tungoe has appealed the complainant not to go for unnecessary paper war but to extend cooperation to village authorities and department officers for fruitful solution.
The Sub Inspector of Schools clarified that as per record the land was donated by three members of A Khel and B Khel Wokha village and there was no record of land dispute. However, parts of the school has been occupied by private residents belonging to C Khel and the remaining part of the school building has been sold to an individual by donor member, the SIS stated in a press statement.
SIS also stated that presently only four walls of the school building was left untouched and that there was no site for one room extension to the knowledge of education department.
