Village level training on agriculture underway in Tuensang

The three-day training for village level on agriculture extension workers under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) training and capacity building commenced on Tuesday at Town hall Tuensang.
At the inaugural programme, training for four RD Block of Noklak, Thonoknyu, Shamator and Chessore block was conducted with Menungchetba Agriculture Officer Tuensang, S. Apakhuing Agriculture Field Assistant, Sarendi Walling, SMS (Animal Science KVK Tuensang and Imtilemla SMS (Soil conservation) KVK Tuensang as resources persons.
Speaking at the training, Menungchetba, who spoke on the topic cultivation of ginger, said that, ginger was the most important factors of human lives which get benefited in production of medicine spices and also for marketing outlet.
He urged the participants to cultivate in a proper method. Also urging upon the people of Tuensang district to take up cultivation of Cardamom, S. Apakhiung Agriculture Field Assistant Tuensang, enlightened that there were two kinds of cardamom, one small cardamom and other large cardamom, where he also explained that small cardamom is using in chewing paan and also in other needy purpose where as, large cardamom was meant for Ayurvedic medicinal and also for other purposes.
The resources person also said the season for cultivation of large cardamom is in the month of May and June and advised them to cultivate according to its methods of cultivation of large cardamom in order to harvest a lot.
He also said large cardamom was using especially in Iraq and Iran country and also in Bhutan and Sikkim. Sarendi Walling SMS Animal Science KVK Tuensang and Imtilemla SMS Soil conservation KVK Tuensang were also talked on various topic including, piggery management integrated with fish rearing and awareness on soil & water conservation.
