The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has condemned the arrest warrant issued against the UNC and ANSAM presidents by the Manipur government.
Terming such move as infortunate and uncalled for, A Pfokrehrii Khrasi, president SDSA in a press note has asked the state government to revoke the infamous order. The SDSA, while extending their support to the UNC and ANSAM for the cause of the Nagas in Manipur, has asked the state government to initiate similar action to the valley based organizations who have initiated counter banned by preventing the trucks and buses bound carrying rice and petroleum products for hill areas in the state.
Stating that the state government led by Ibobi Singh instead of fixing the problem has instead opted for more divisive politics pleasing the valley based Meitei population which clearly depicts “see he cares, lets vote for him”. The SDSA has termed Manipur CM Ibobi Singh as ‘harmful to the social system and the state’ and instead of finding ways to solve the vexed issue has militarize the Naga areas by instigating the UCM and AMUCO. The SDSA has questioned the state government attitude for ‘running like a mouse’ after flexing is might through the ruthless and infamous Manipur police commandos.
The SDSA also stated that they would not remain silent over the issue if the state government do not revoke the order of arrest warrant and wanted tag on the UNC and ANSAM.
