The celebration started with Col RC Khajuria, Commandant, Assam Regimental Centre, laying wreath at the Centre War Memorial to pay homage to the comrades who have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The cermony was followed by Flag Hoisting at the Quarter Guard and Special Sainik Sammelan at Parson Parade ground, where personnel excelling in different fields/disciplines were felicitated.
At the end of the day, a special Barakhana was organized in the Mohan Football Stadium.
The retired officers, JCOs and men who have long back hung their uniforms participated wholeheartedly, and remembered their good old days.
As a mark of respect for the martyrs of the Regiment, the special invitees, “Veer Naris” from in and around Shillong were invited and honoured at the Barakhana.
