BJP central team led by Sushma Swaraj will be arriving in Manipur on June 23 to take first hand stock of the situation of the state arising out of the 67 day economic blockade on the two National highways.
President of the state unit of the party Shantikumar said the team was coming to study the situation of the people when both state and Central government authorities failed to come up with solution to end the blockade or relieving people from the artificial scarcity of the foods and other essential items.
A report to be compiled by the visiting team will be placed in the house of Parliament during its next session. It may be mentioned that a national executive meeting of the BJP held on June 12 and 13 last had deputed Sushma Swaraj, opposition leader in the Lok Shaba to visit the state and submit a report to the party and also to table the report in the house of Lok Sabha during its next session.
