Eastern Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers’ Association (ENPSTA) extending its strong support to the stand of ANPSTA today urged the government to fulfill their rights, demands and grievances. ANPSTA June 15 declared to initiate 1st phase agitation June 22 to press their demand for implementation of NCTE norms in recruitment of elementary teachers. Pointing out that PSTE course was introduced in 2003 in all the DIETs with an aim to appoint professionally trained persons for quality education, the ENPSTA general secretary Chamai, in a press faxed statement, said however the policy was not implemented effectively “leaving the PSTE diploma holders in a pile up trash.” Further, ENPSTA stated lack of response from responsible authority, even after its repeated representations, has compelled it to stand in unison to agitate and stand firm with ANPSTA until their rights were fulfilled.
