Rs. 11 crore to be sanctioned to solve water supply crisis in Kiphire town
Monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on June 8 at DC Kiphire office under the chairmanship of MLA & Chairman, DPDB C. Kipili Sangtam.
In his maiden address to the board as the new deputy commissioner and also vice chairman of DPDB, Kiphire, C. M. Tsanglao expressed happiness to board members particularly MLA C. Kipili Sangtam sought cooperation for proper administration and execution of the duties and responsibilities vested upon the district officials.
MLA & Chairman C. Kipili Sangtam citing the example of King Solomon opined that even wise king, would not have been successful had it not been for the support of his people. He therefore, urged the board members to cooperate with the new DC.
Further, new DPDB members were introduced with Muroho Chutso, ADC Kiphire, Dr. Kuzo Wideo, EAC, Kiphire and Er. Namang S. Chang, EAC, Kiphire.
Up-gradation of existing Pungro and Seyochung Police outposts to full-fledged station, transfer of Kiusam police station (Which is under Kiphire district) from Tuensang Police station to Kiphire police station, poor performance of government schools under Kiphire district were also deliberated.
DC informed the members that surprise checking would be conducted from time to time and “No work No pay” shall be enforced on defaulting officials.
DC also cautioned officers that undesirable remarks may be compelled to put in ACRs of the officers if officers were found irregular in their attendance in the DPDB.
Board raised its concern on deplorable condition in certain sections of NH-155 between Meluri and Kiphire. On deliberation, the Board entrusted Executive Engineer (National Highways), Kiphire Division to attend the next DPDB meeting with detail report for information of the members.
He also informed the house that Rs. 11 crore would be sanctioned very soon to solve the water supply crisis in Kiphire town.
Need of cleanliness in Kiphire town was discussed at length and board decided to work with 11 wards in the town to make cleanliness programme a success.
Meanwhile, DC announced a handsome award of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) for best Ward in this regard. SDO (Civil), Kiphire informed the Board that recently inaugurated Sub-Jail has now started functioning with one UTP. MS of District Hospital, Kiphire informed the Board that an Auto Analyser machine was received in the district hospital to be made operational soon.
CMO Kiphire informed that there was almost nil drainage system in Kiphire town which was a must for maintenance of proper sanitation, and asked Board to take necessary steps to take the matter at the earliest.
Chairman, in his supplementary remarks asked district administration to protect the land belonging to district hospital from encroachments and also asked EE (PHED), Kiphire to endorse a copy each to both the MLA for his proposals submitted to the head of the department to enable them to help pursue the matter for early implementation.
