Following the Centre’s allocation of Rs.2212 crore for Plan Outlay 2010-11 for Nagaland, the NPF press bureau has congratulated chief minister Neiphiu Rio and the DAN government for “bringing a record highest plan allocation” which is a quantum jump of 47% over the last financial year’s allocation.
The NPF press bureau claimed that the “generous plan allocation” was “a result of the positive performance of the DAN government under the visionary leadership of the chief minister in the past seven years.” It claimed that implementation of widespread development and accelerated economic growth “under the judicious rule of the DAN coalition are paying rich dividends.”
It said that despite the “adverse recommendations” of the 13th FC, the “dedicated efforts of the DAN leadership” contributed to the step up with the chief minister playing a key role in making the Centre and its agencies understand difficulties faced by Nagaland. It expressed appreciation to the prime minister, union finance minister and Dy. chairman planning commission Dr Montek Singhfor the “generous plan size” and also appreciated the intervention by state Governor Nikhil Kumar. It expressed gratitude to the UPA government for appreciating the support extended to it by the NPF/DAN members of Parliament. The NPF also appealed to CANSSEA to call off the ongoing agitation in response to the generous offer of the state government and in the interest of the state and its people.
