REUU meeting raise concern on unemployment

Rengma Educated Unemployed Union (REUU) organized a joint consultative meeting with Rengma NGOs, politicians, officers, church and village leaders on June 11 to discuss various problems faced by Rengma youth.
The meeting emphasized on increasing unemployment problem among youth of the community, need for up-gradation of ADC Tseminyu office and establishment of various department offices in the sub-division, separate quota for Rengmas for self-employment etc. The meeting also suggested review of negligence and performance of Rengma NGOs, political parties, church leaders, officers and village councils for rectification in the interest of the future generation. The house assured the REUU of cooperation and coordination in the union’s efforts towards bringing justice in the interest of the younger generation.
Meanwhile it informed that parliamentary secretary for horticulture, R. Khing graced the meeting as chief guest and donated Rs.50,000. Former minister, Nillo Rengma; ADC Tseminyu, Ahola Those; EUUN president, Achilo Thong; Rengma Hoho president, Kegwanye Lorin; Rengma Mothers’ Association president, Kelesha Kath; and Rengma Students’ Union president, Kenneth Kath delivered short speeches at the meeting.
