Temor hits Andaman

A strong earthquake of 6.0 intensity, which rocked North Andaman Islands early this morning, has caused considerable damage in Diglipur Island of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to the Disaster Control Room of A&N Islands, the quake was felt in entire North and Middle Andaman region. “There are some cracks in Diglipur’s Government quarters. The newly constructed part of Diglipur Jetty has also got serious damage. There are also visible cracks on Diglipur roads and in fact in every house and shop there are some loss of properties,’’ Sudeep Saha, the Patwari of Diglipur Islands, told UNI over phone.
