NSCN (I-M) general secretary Th. Muivah, who paid rich tribute to late A.Z. Phizo by laying wreath at his tomb Sunday, described Phizo as “guiding star of Naga nation.”
Delivering his brief address at the tomb of the “father of the Naga Nation”, Muivah termed the occasion as “historic” and profusely lauded NNC – the founding Naga national movement.
He said NNC under the leadership of A.Z. Phizo took the biggest decision to save the Naga nation. “If Nagas want to know the reality of his nation, he should try to dig into past and unearth the reality”, Muivah said.
Lavishly pouring praises over NNC leaders, Muivah said NNC under the leadership of Phizo did best for the Nagas. “They have done their best for you, me and all to come thus far,” Muivah said, adding “we are proud of them and we feel we are most blessed.”
NSCN (I-M) leader also stated that it was because of the lead taken by NNC that Nagas were safe today, adding “we’ll be safe tomorrow.”
He also recalled late Phizo’s days in London, where he had to endure sufferings including financial difficulties.
Admitting difficulties Phizo had to face, Muivah said even though he and Isak Swu traveled to different parts of the world they did not suffer anywhere as they got support of the people.
“Isak and I did not face difficulty, our people supported us and we do not face financial difficulty,” Muivah said.
While praying for eternal glory to NNC and late A.Z. Phizo, Muivah prayed that God bless late AZ Phizo and NNC.
