With the dismissal of Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by Nagaland Senior Government Employees Welfare Association (NSGEWA) at the Supreme Court in connection with Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (2nd amendment) Act 2009, the association Tuesday stated that it was “extremely demoralized” by the apex court’s verdict. A press statement issued by NSGEWA chairman, Roko Pier said although association had lost its legal battle in the apex court, it urged members not to feel frustrated as they “have not committed any wrong” towards the government or the people of the state during their 35-36 years of service to the state. The NSGEWA also called upon its members to initiate and process their pensions and related papers. Meanwhile, association has informed that it would hold a general meeting, as resolved, on July 20, 11am at NSGEWA office, D-block Kohima.
