In a perfect display of desire of the unemployed youths of the state to join the army, thousands of youth turned up for recruitment rally for the Territorial Army held at the army cantonment, Zakhama Military Station today. The massive response of the rally however was marred with unruly scene following protest by the crowded enthusiastic aspiring candidate who gathered at TCP Gate outside the military station.
The protest reportedly started after the aspiring candidates ran out of patience to wait for their turn to go for screening and physical fitness test as they were taken inside by vehicle at a batch of 50 candidates at a time due to security reasons and lack of space.
Defence PRO Col. Palta while admitting the report said aspiring candidates started protesting outside the gate after their turn for rally came late due to overcrowding. The recruitment rally is scheduled to continue on Thursday when medical examination will be held for those candidates who have passed physical fitness tests while the written test for those candidates who passed the medical examination will be held on July 16.
