A three-day free family planning/ sterilization camp commemorating world population week was held on Thursday at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha.
A function was held at hospital premises chaired by Dr. Kevingullie Khro medical superintendent, DMMH, DC Wokha Rovilatuo Mor, graced the occasion.
Sharing views on family planning, DC Rovilatuo Mor said to keep up with the living standards people were bound and compelled to give priority to quality of life, quality education, proper health care facilities etc. and if only people could consider and co-relate with family, then state plan family size can be planned out. Wise decision from the family level can help in stabilizing population in the future, DC opined.
Dr. Kevingullie MS briefed on the purpose of organizing the camp.
He highlighted that the main aim of the camp was not to reduce Population but disseminate the idea of safe livelihood and economic stabilization in the State.
Dr. Yanrenthung Jami Obs.& Gynae DMMH shared on the various types of Family Planning methods and the benefits of fertility control, like better health, less stress/problem, and better education.
