EPF&M applies to all factory with 20 or more employees

The Directorate of Labour Nagaland through an official communication has stated that the Employees Provident Funds & Miscellaneous provision Act, 1952 applies to every factory which employs 20 or more persons.
The Act is a beneficial legislation enacted as a measure of social justice in the form of Provident Fund, Pension and Insurance with an objective to ensure better future of the employees concerned on his retirement and dependents in case of his early death. Joint Labour Commissioner, Nagaland Er.L.Nungshiyanger Aier stated.
In this regard, the official communiqué has ask such organization, company, firm or factory to submit the Employee’s Provident Fund subscription record under their respective establishment to the Joint Labour Commissioner on or before July 20, 2010 for further communication to the Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
