ANCSF meet
KOHIMA: Executive meeting of All Nagaland Co-operative Societies Federation (ANCSF) has been convened on July 13 at the residence of its treasurer and decided to hold annual general meeting –cum- release of constitution on July 28 at 11 am at Hotel Grandeur near AIR Kohima. Azheto, MLA, Adviser to co-operation and Sericulture will be the chief guest and release the constitution.
SUKT session
KOHIMA: Sangtam Union Kohima Town (SUKT) informed that current general session which was convened on July 24 has been re-scheduled to July 31 due to government declaration of 4th Saturday as working day.
PAMSU as ‘autonomous sub-unit’ of NPA
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Pensioners’ Association (NPA), Kohima has informed all state pensioners/family pensioners of Medziphema sub-division that the Pensioners’ Association Medziphe Sub-Unit (PAMSU) has been recognized as an autonomous sub-unit of apex body NPA. All the state pensioners/family pensioners drawing pensions from SBI Medziphema branch have been requested to enroll as member of the sub-unit and avail the services of the organization.
‘Handshake Concert’ on DD1
DIMAPUR: The ‘Handshake Concert’ which was held on World Music Day, June 21 would be telecast on DD1 Saturday, starting 5pm.
Workshop on control of dengue
DIMAPUR: National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Nagaland and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) would be organizing workshop on the prevention and control of dengue on July 19, 9am at Hotel Saramati, conference hall, Dimapur. All GBs in-charge of DMC wards have been requested to attend the workshop.
DD-I, DD News telecast compulsory
DIMAPUR: All Cable Operators of Kohima have been directed to implement provision of Cable Telecom Network Regulatory Act 1995 to compulsorily telecast DD-I, DD News and regional language channels. DC Kohima Bei-u Angami notified that failing to comply with notification would invite necessary action as per provision of the law.
Meeting for DDOs
DIMAPUR: As per directive of DC Wokha, Chief Manager (Lead Bank) SBI Wokha Branch has convened a meeting with DDO’s of all departments of State Government on July 20 at DC’s office chamber at 12 p.m. to discuss on various financial transactions with the Bank. All HoD’s have been requested to attend the meeting.
VC declares Ph.D
KOHIMA: Vice chancellor, NU, has declared James Kuba Chawang to be provisionally qualified for Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Rural Development and Planning department of this University which is subject to ratification by academic and executive council of the University. The topic of the thesis is ‘Training needs of Paddy Cultivators in Dimapur District of Nagaland’ with supervisor Dr. Kaushal Kumar Jha and Regd No - 152/2003.
Toilet complex under NRHM
MOKOKCHUNG: Toilet complex consisting of six rooms for patients of Mangkolemba CHC was constructed with the help of NRHM funding and ADC Mangkolemba Urban Development Fund. The HCMC has expressed gratitude to Mangkolemba administration for their contribution towards welfare of the community.
ZTC meet on illegal use of power
DIMAPUR: Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) held a co-ordination meeting with town GBs and department of power on July 12 and deliberated matters regarding illegal use of power. The house resolved that inspection would be carried out by GBs and elders, ZTC advisors, district administration and police to control illegal use of power lines. The house cautioned against illegal use of power at Zunheboto town and stated that defaulters would be penalized as per power theft act. Meanwhile, ZTC advisor, Nikheto Zhimomi stated in a press release that power department has also been requested to install separate transformer for Natha Old and Kawoto villages as power lines to those villages were being supplied through one transformer attached to DC Hill colony Zunheboto, causing damage to the transformer due to overload.
NU B.Tech seat reservation
DIMAPUR: Nagaland University has notified allocation/reservation of seats for B.Tech course at School of Engineering & Technology, NU Dimapur for academic session 2010-11. The course include departments of biotechnology, computer science, electronic & communication and information technology. Each department would have a total of 60 seats, out of which, 12 would be allocated for Nagaland, 3 VC quotas, 31 all India and 2 each for Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Assam and Manipur. NU also informed that students who secured an aggregate of 45% in five related subjects would be eligible for the course with August 12 as the last date for admissions.
Submission of EPF record
DIMAPUR: Factories with 20 or more employees have been invited to submit subscription record of Employee’s Provident Fund to joint labour commissioner (HoD), Er. L. Nungshiyanger Aier on or before July 20 for further communication to central ministry of labour. Informing this in an official notice, Aier stated that the Employee’s Provident Fund & Miscellaneous provision Act 1952 was a beneficial legislation enacted as a form of social justice in the form of provident fund, pension and insurance. All factories employing 20 or more persons would be applicable for the Act.
