All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association (ANPWDFWA) has appealed the competent authority to revoke the Work-Charged and Casual Employees Commission with immediate effect in the interest of justice and welfare of the work-charged employees.
ANPWDFWA said that the state government was on the verge of decreasing the salaries of work-charged employees by initiating such Commission at a time when prices of essential commodities were sky rocketing. The association said that the employees were in need of sympathetic consideration by the government for enhancing the salaries but regretted that the government was showing negative responses. The ANPWDFWA strongly opposed any such move to decrease their salaries and appealed for payment of their salaries as per the norms of the appointment order of the employees on or before August 10, 2010.
The ANPWDFWA said that the competent authority would held responsible for any “unwanted incident” that might arose due to non-compliance of its ultimatum.
Meanwhile, ANPWDFWA president, Inakhu Aye and general secretary, K. Atovi Awomi has called for an emergency meeting on July 23, 10 a.m at PWD Rest House Dimapur to discuss the matter related to minutes of the first meeting of the Work-Charged and Casual Employees Commission.
ANPWDFWA president, Inakhu Aye and general secretary, K. Atovi Awomi has requested all unit presidents and secretaries of PWD (R&B) & (H) to attend the meeting positively. It also asked all unit presidents and secretaries to bring the membership fee for the year 2010 of their respective units.
