Sainik school stages ‘monsoon fest’

For the third consecutive year, ‘Monsoon Fest’ was celebrated on July 17 July at Sainik School, Punglwa. The talent search contest conducted in the form of inter house competition resulted in Japfu House bagging the ‘Rolling Trophy’ for 2010 and Doyang House missing it by a whisker.
Group song was also presented by ladies from Punglwa village as a guest item, staff group song followed by an igniting performance by the tiny-tots of Blooming Buds Foundation School which impressed the audience amidst waves of applause.
Lt. Col SI Jakhalu, Secretary and Director, Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland accompanied by his wife graced the occasion as chief guest.
In his address, Lt Col SI Jakhalu expressed hope that the cadets of the 21st Sainik School would join the Indian Armed Forces in huge numbers in the years to come.
Er Bendang Longkumar and Jemti Ao (both ex-cadets of Sainik School, Ghorakhal) and Razouvotuo Chatsu, the parent member of local board of administration of the school were judges for the event.
Special invitees who were present in the function included GBs and chairmen, VCs from Punglwa and Gaili.
