Police advisory

Against the backdrop of the recent case of 11 Naga youths who were duped by some agents/individuals in Chennai, the state police have come out with an advisory for the public in the interest of their safety and wellbeing.
In the light of such incidents, the state police have advised the public to ensure that any such offers should be immediately brought to the SPs of their district or the PHQ directly so that prompt checks/verifications could be carried out with the destination State police counterparts. PRO of the Nagaland police department, L .L. Doungel IPS said such pre-checks would save all concerned from any avoidable dire consequences in future. Police said the advisory was not with a view to discourage any ambitious and adventurous aspirant but to avoid any consequent misadventure and possible losses.
Muivah’s security
Meanwhile, the police headquarters said that the police was providing security to NSCN (I-M) general secretary, Th. Muivah as he fell under ‘Z’ plus security. The police, said, therefore, as per security norms it was mandatory on the part of the state police to provide the prescribed level of protection and security as per entitlement of such designated ‘Z’ plus security. As such, police said that the provision of security to the NSCN (I-M) leader was solely based on prescribed security requirement.
